WebDav - Access  to ressources issue
Hi, i would like you to help me on a issue I'm encountering by using WebDav with IIS. System: Windows 2008 x64 R2 (with latest patches) ISS version: 7.5 Problem: I have set up WebDav in order to access some folders via Internet. I have set up one folder per user (as their home folder) and i gave them only the rights they need. I mean each user have rights only on its folder. Everything works perfectly except...what I discovered a few days ago while performing some tests. When I want to connect to my "home" folder, I put the address in the address bar (in IE8 or Firefox), I will provide my credentials and then it works. I can browse normally. The strange thing (actually my problem ) is that if I provide the credentials of another user, I still can access my "home" folder. After several tests, I couldn't solve the problem. Any user if he wants to connect to the folder of another user, he can. I tried deleting the "browser cache" - same problem I tried several authentications IIS. (basic, digest, integrated) - same problem I tried on IIS 6 (on 2003) and 7.5 (on 2008) - same problem. I tried several "authoring rules" - same problem I tried with "deny" NTFS permission for my users - even with "deny" they are still able to access the other users folders. Could you help me to understand what (if) I'm doing wrong? Should you need more details, please ask me. Thank you very much in advance. Strotti

You can access such folders with the built-in components using Expression Web or other web autjoring too. Web DAV is obsolete, as FTP is now more widely used. WedDAV goes back to Windows 98. Vote if answered or helpful, I am running for Office (joke)! IT/Developer, Windows/Linux/Mainframe Need a some parts finish the new server, see the site for remaining items needed
